Graeme Stanway, VCI Partner

Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honors (University of Adelaide); Doctor of Philosophy (Imperial College London); Master of Business Administration (Monash University); Member of the Institution of Engineers (Australia).

Graeme is a Partner of Virtual Consulting International with extensive executive management and leadership experience across a range of heavy industries including mineral resources, large scale technology projects, naval architecture, structural engineering and civil construction. Functional roles have included: strategic development and change; strategic marketing; complex project management; business improvement; and large scale operations.

In consulting, Graeme has particular strengths in innovative concept development, strategy development and large scale transformational change processes. For Australia’s largest Iron Ore producer, Graeme lead the positioning, design and implementation of a highly impactful transformational strategy process. This work was noted in the book “The First 11” as a benchmark case study in strategic management, and has resulted in this client aggressively pursuing global growth strategies, and being recognized as an industry leader in remote operations and automation technology.

Other assignments have include: leading a major strategic repositioning and organisational transformational program for the worlds largest Coking Coal producer; Strategic Organisational Redesign for another global top tier Iron Ore business; Strategy Development for West African, South African and Australian gold businesses; and Business model and Strategy Development for one of the largest global Uranium producers.

Graeme is the recipient of the Curtin Medal from the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK) for Innovation in Engineering.
